What Schools Say

‘Your team do a fantastic job to ensure that poetry (and literacy in general) can be a lot of fun! It has been a pleasure. Your company is very efficient and easy to work with…. Which makes our job so much easier! Many thanks from all of us.’ – Eimear Davis, Deputy Head Teacher, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Loughborough, Lecistershire, UK

‘Saci Lloyd visited our school yesterday and ran two large sessions in our main hall – the first with year 8 and 10 and the second with year 7 and 9 – reaching almost 800 students in total. She held the student’s attention throughout with a brilliant mix of information, entertainment, websites, video clips and an engaging reading as well as much audience participation and interaction. She kicked off each session getting the students to create an impromptu thriller, going on to explain how she uses such exciting plot lines to make the subjects that both inspire and matter to her more interesting to her readers. As such she cleverly made some relevant and thought-provoking points about the environment, climate change and the future of technology, encouraging students to think about these issues whilst being entertained in a diverse manner. Saci was great to deal with and was very flexible, informal and approachable –  the students responded brilliantly, many of them queued to have something signed by Saci afterwards and the school library now has a list of reservations on her books.’

‘Our day was excellent. The children particularly enjoyed the whole school performance and it was great to see all children (and staff) participating with such enthusiasm. Then poetry workshop sessions allowed every single child to achieve and they all produced a poem to be proud of, many of which are now copied out and displayed in classrooms. A super day! Thank you!’ – Nicky Aston, Headteacher, Eastern Green Junior School, Coventry, UK

‘A huge thank you for yesterday’s workshop – the author went down a storm! The pupils wouldn’t let him leave as they all wanted his autograph! Many thanks again – I’m sure we’ll be contacting you again in the future!’ – Charlotte Cantwell, Literacy Coordinator, Tranmere Park Primary School, Leeds
