 Steve’s School Visits

An Incall session would consist of the team visiting the school for a days writing and recording.
A mobile studio would be set up in the music room/available space and one to one sessions/small group sessions would be arranged.
The school will receive 5 tracks of music prior to the visit. The school/college would distribute to willing and talented pupils so that they can work ideas to bring to the session. The team would then work with the student/small group on song writing structure, lyric ideas, melody, tone and record. The recording process would also be covered.

Out Call visits would mean the students joining us at our brand new studio based in Hebden Bridge. Here we would work with 1 – 5 promising students on writing, arranging and recording. Again the students will have access to music beforehand so they can arm themselves with excellent ideas. The studio has private parking and a member of staff or chaperone is more than welcome on the session.

Music Styles
For both in call and out call options the schools will be issued with backing tracks a week before the session. This is an important feature as it gives the students a choice of style they would like to work on. The styles will range from Rock, RnB, Pop, Hip Hop and Folk. Each idea can be tailored for the pupil in real time during the creative process and this too is an important learning skill.

Let’s Get Started
Dependant on numbers, each session will consist of:
Show and Tell
An opportunity for the student and team to talk about influences, listening habits, experiences, goals, dreams and aim
Writing Approach
Stylistic analysis and planned writing approach
Nuts and Bolts
Putting pen to paper, singing, rapping, expressing ideas and forming the ideas fluently
Let’s make a hit !
Record the idea, with constant guidance and standard recording techniques
Evaluation. Did we achieve our goals? What have we learnt? Can we do anything better next time? Let’s enjoy what we have done.

The Bigsmallnoise experience is unique, fun and invaluable to any student interested in making music. It’s never been more paramount that young people learn the art of music recording, writing and production in this highly competitive business.

We can offer a comfortable, engaging and challenging opportunity to students that want to showcase themselves and work with the best.
