Summer Reading Challenge 2018

The next Summer Reading Challenge, an annual scheme organised by the Reading Agency since 1999 to keep children reading during the summer holidays, will follow the theme of the ‘Beano’.

This theme means that the challenge will focus on mischief and pranks, as inspired by the much-loved comic, which turns 80 that year.

Want to send your children off to summer all eager to enrol? Authors Abroad have many authors and illustrators ideal for getting children excited about their six book challenge for the Summer Reading Challenge in their local public library.

Some of our authors have even had their work feature in the Beano, including Kev Sutherland and Jonathan Meres.

Pranks and laughter abound  with Ciaran Murtagh and Poetricks.

Fantastic illustrators include Chris White,  Liz Million and Dave Shelton.
